At The Scrapyard we prioritize a healthy balance between having fun and training efficiently. We structure our classes using the Constraint Led Approach (CLA), a training methodology which allows our athletes to experience no-gi grappling first hand while maintaining an environment that advocates for effective learning. Classes are structured into live games with rules that help to guide athletes towards effective solutions. This allows us to make sure that athletes are both physically and mentally stimulated while promoting positivity in the room.
Our coaching staff places a big emphasis on helping each athlete achieve their goals. Coaches make themselves available to athletes during class and office hours so that everyone is supported and on the same page. Are you worried about a nagging injury?
Dealing with feeling like you aren’t getting better? Wanting a breakdown of your game so you know where to focus on improvement? The coach can help to point you in the right direction.
We want to share our passion for grappling with our members, as well as make sure that all members have a voice in the training room. Key to our culture is a respect for everyone and their own personal goals, while simultaneously training hard. Training hard does NOT mean training reckless. Safety comes first, especially in a room with various levels of skill, body types, and experience. By supporting all of our teammates we can help each person succeed.
